Iconography of the Skies: UFOs in Christian Art
From the Annunciation of Saint Emidius (1486) to the Crucifixion fresco in Kosovo’s Visoki DeCani Monastery (14th century), numerous religious paintings feature flying discs, radiant sky-wheels, and strange humanoids observing from above.
• These were long dismissed as symbolic elements.
• But infrared scans of certain icons reveal non-pigment anomalies — shapes painted beneath the paint… resembling modern aerial craft.
